This on-line collection of images from Marple and District’s past and present is brought to you by The Marple Website with the help and support of Marple Local History Society.

The society has contributed many images since the site began in 2001 but in 2010 we began a more formal collaboration that will progressively make all the images in the society’s archives available for our visitors from around the world to browse. As well as the History Society’s significant contribution, the photo galleries include images from the archives of Marple Civic Society and from the personal collections of many private individuals who have allowed their treasured photographs and postcards to be scanned for the purpose of sharing them with the widest possible audience. Collecting local postcards and photographs of where you live is a popular hobby but being able to share them with hundreds, if not thousands, of other like-minded souls makes it even more rewarding.
