Marple Station

Marple Station was opened in 1865 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. It was demolished and rebuilt in 1970 and underwent a more recent refurbishment in 2012. this album contains images relating to the station with a sub-album that contains a record of the 2012 Improvements.

Marple Station Improvements in 2012 In February 2012 works began to improve Marple Station, including "Replacement footbridge and alterations at Marple Railway Station including extension to ticket building to provide toilet facilities." Local photographer Arthur Procter was regularly on the spot to capture the changes with his camera, all the way to the reopening ceremony in August 2012.
